(I don’t have a thing against Audrey Kitching, she was just merely and example). 

But this fucking disgusts me right here. It makes me want to say, fuck this country and its racism and double standards. 

This is an awful example of people acting terribly, but… the subset of users that follow the page “Ban Islam” aren’t exactly going to be the most representative sample, especially when it comes to someone wearing a Hijab. Yes, the fact that there exists enough people to make that a successful page is terrible, but I’d hesitate to say that that’s a reason to be embarrassed to be an American.

I’m back! I have an MFA degree and a sunburn from a wonderful week in Disneyworld, and I am looking forward to all that life offers a bird-crazy illustrator!

I have posted a few of these, but I thought it would make sense to have them all in one post. This is the result of my final project for my MFA—a series of recently extinct birds.  Someday I hope I can make this into a full-fledged (pun unintended) book! It was a great learning experience and I look forward to continuing work on it.

The pigeons depress me the most. I bet they would’ve made really gentle pets.

This neglects to mention that the Stephens Island Wren wasn’t just “wiped out by cats”….the one it mentions, belonging to the lighthouse keeper, was the ONLY cat ever there.

Its name was Tibbles.

Tibbles is the only known individual to have exterminated an entire species presumably all by itself.

This is great and all if you know how to subtract things from 100 

Not to mention, the example shown is very misleading. This basically only works nicely for numbers 80-100 or so. If I’m doing, for example, 74*69, your “simple trick” becomes 100-(26+31) and 26*31. Which probably doesn’t save you a great deal of time.
